Plenty of Time

The Ensemble Theatre
3535 Main Street Houston

Black militarism, feminism and the AIDS epidemic all come to the surface when an unlikely romance brews between a spoiled Southern debutant and a member of the Black Panther Party. Set in 1968, Plenty of Time follows the tumultuous love between Christina, a 17-year-old from an upper class family, and 22-year-old military radical Corey. Despite their drastically different worlds, the two share one passionate night together, which subsequently leads to a love affair that spans four decades. Meeting once a year in a small private beach house, Christina and Corey make sense of the evolving conflicts that take place in the world around them. Written by John Shevin Foster, this contemporary love story about self-discovery and awakening comes to The Ensemble Theatre.
