It's 1429, and England has once again invaded France, claiming the throne for King Henry VI. As the victorious English rampage through France, everything from the direction of the wind to the laying habits of chickens seems to indicate that God is on England's side. When a young French peasant girl named Joan claims that the archangel Michael has commanded her to raise an army and defend her homeland, she's doubted at first -- until her battlefield success makes her impossible to ignore.
