Disgraced
Studio 101
1824 Spring Street Houston
In Disgraced, idle dinner party chit-chat explodes into the kind of rollicking, no-holds-barred argument that makes for truly delicious theater. Winner of a Pulitzer Prize, and also a Tony nominee for Best Play, this fascinating, powerful drama centers on a Pakistani-American lawyer who hosts a dinner party for a black co-worker and her Jewish husband, but what starts out as civil conversation quickly erupts into a volatile argument over race, religion and more. Now 4th Wall Theatre Company brings this blistering Broadway hit -- written by actor-playwright Ayad Akhtar (the Milwaukee native who co-wrote and starred in the award-winning 2005 film The War Within) -- to Studio 101 in Houston.
